Account-level Multifactor Authentication Security

The Physical Verification process is defined by authentication factors that are designed to verify the identity of an authorized admin user or generic user through a physical or digital medium.

These factors fall under three categories:

  • Something that is known only to the user, such as a Password, PIN, Pattern, or TOTP.
  • A hardware device owned by the user, such as a smartphone, smartcard, USB token, or other hardware key.
  • A unique physical/biological trait of the user such as face, voice, or fingerprint.

Each of these physical verification mechanisms has basic requirements to be met for physical identity and authentication via websites, applications, networks, systems, and other secured services like creating an account, enabling the physical verification option by the thrid-party admin on the cidaas Admin dashboard, linking the cidaas authenticator app to the user acccount via QR scanning or provider setup code, and more.
