User Deduplication

User deduplication refers to a method of eliminating a user's redundant data like passwords or verification codes.

In a secure user deduplication process, a deduplication assessment tool identifies extra copies of user data and deletes it, so a unique instance can then be stored. User deduplication techniques ensure that only one unique instance of user is retained on the server.

cidaas implements Data analytics to examine user profiles and recognize duplicate user profiles during the user registration. Only a single instance of the user is allowed to be registered on the user portal.

Deduplication Benefits

Data deduplication benefits span beyond improving data quality and efficient user database management. Normalizing customer data saves storage space, from 30% to 90%.

Economically adding and using storage space makes sense as many companies use one or more cloud providers. Scaling up your data increases your cloud storage costs, thus, hurting the bottom line.

Implementing user data deduplication saves up on unintended expenses.

Moreover, user deduplication benefits regulatory compliance. Keeping customer information provides the business opportunity, but failure to delete this data when required violates regulations like the GDPR and the CCPA. Deduplication makes complying with deletion provisions easier, as you don't need to handle and delete redundant user information.

Example

When a user has already registered on the user portal using either email ID, mobile number, or user name, and tries to sign up with the same credentials, cidaas internally checks for a match, and redirects the user to a Welcome Back page.

Welcome Back Page

Here, cidaas displays the welcome back message along with the option to type your account password, or select from an alternative authentication method that you've configured on the portal.

You can also reset your password by clicking on the Forgot Password link.
